Anywho, normally when I go in I walk out the same way... with nothing. But yesterday I saw, peeking out from behind some ugly picture frames, what appeared to be a scalloped-edge ironstone plate. Hmm, I wondered, could it be? Well guess what! It was a 16" scalloped-edge platter, marked $2.99. $2.99 people! Even though I wasn't familiar with marking, for $2.99 how could I pass it up! Can we say, sizz-old!
I personally love the all the crazing and discoloration. And I don't mind that there is a chip either.
This is the marking I was unfamiliar with. Turns out this $2.99 platter is from 1919 and worth just a tad bit more than I paid for it. Now can we say scizzz-ore! (OK, enough of that!)
Here it is in my challenge room.
Check out the detail around the edge.
Don't pay attention to the curtain panel... still under construction.
That's all for now... till next time.
